The wounds of the soul and heart would ache less and would heal faster if we did not treat them with so much attachment ... the outside world calls for healing, but we often choose to stay, and continue to wash them, reverently, with tears of self-pity ... and believe me, this attitude, of insistence on prolonging the calvaries, is not the fault of anyone but ours. No one has the helm of our boat, of our will ... no one can do us greater harm than ourselves.
